Come Awake, Come Awake, Come rise up from the Grave

What a week of blessings! So Sunday I was able to go to a huge church and see hundreds of my brothers and sisters worship their savior. It was so amazing to get to see men and woman of all ages raising their hands to God in praise, even an elderly woman in her wheelchair shouted for joy! It was a little glimpse of what heaven will be like one day. This Tuesday at Pamplona, we celebrated Santiago's Birthday (our friend/translator) It was so good, because all the women showed up and even more for his birthday, but ultimately they heard the WORD OF GOD! I was introduced to a great Peruvian tradition, where they always smash the cake in your face before you eat it! It was fun, but not looking forward to that on my birthday lol. Thursday we went out to the orphange and put on an Easter skit for all the kids. It was a long day, as you can imagin, doing everything 4 times, groups of 200 each! But what a blessing, 800 children heard the gospel, and what is even better, all the workers, whom are mostly atheist heard the gospel as well!
Yesterday was probably the longest day since I have gotten here. We went back to the orphanage again and helped out with the little ones (Ruby is doing great!) And a team that was in from the States installed a washer and dryer for them!!!! Then came all the way back to the other side of Lima for Secret Church. For those of you who do not know, David Platt (author of Radical) hosts Secret Church 2 times a year, we watched the simulcast and dove into the word for 7 1/2 hours. It was so amazing, we prayed for the horn of Africa (which is the focus of the IMB this month) Please continue to pray for this dangerous area, and for workers to go.
Last night was so good, and rejuvenated my soul! God's word is so good, and HE is GOOD ALL THE TIME! I did not get to bed till almost 2, just for the Holy Spirit to awaken me at 6:30. But what can I say, God's timing is not our timing, and my brother in Christ needed prayer. Now back here, preparing for my lesson this afternoon and evening. We are presenting the full gospel/crucifixion tonight. Please Pray that their hearts would be ready to receive it and that I can stay awake!!! I will post tomorrow to let you know how it went.
As we celebrate Easter let us remember the great sacrifice that Jesus gave. I want to leave you with this small piece of my journal entry this morning:
"The battle is over,  You have won.
You are victorious-not death, Satan, or anything of man
We do not fight for Victory.
We fight from Victory!
I will put death to my own hypocrisy
For you are what is important, YOU ARE WORTH IT!
And it is YOU I am running towards!

May you have a blessed Easter. Luke 24: 46-48
